Construction of dewatering system; dewatering and pre-treatment of groundwater; excavation of 16,000 cubic yards of overburden; removal and disposal of 8,300 tons of contaminated soil; construction of a 400 ft. landscaped retaining wall; alley restoration; site restoration. 

MGP Site Remediation - Wilson, North Carolina

Scope of Work:

Removal of a gas holder and associated structures, excavation, transportation and disposal of 37,000 tons of MGP impacted soil and sediment; removal, transportation and disposal of 140,000 gallons of MGP impacted water, restoration of creek, backfilling and compaction and site restoration.

 

Mass Excavation at Lucas Oil Stadium-Indianapolis, Indiana

Scope of Work:

Excavate over 500,000 cubic yards of soils on a 25 acre site for the construction of the new home for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. The scope of work included surface demolition, excavating and stockpiling 250,000 cubic yards of soil for backfill and segregating, transporting and disposing of another 250,000 cubic yards of contaminated soils. HIS’ contract also included earth retention and excavation for a new pedestrian tunnel along South Street to the Convention Center.  

MGP Site Remediation - Florence, South Carolina

Scope of Work:

Excavation, transportation and disposal of 39,400 tons of MGP impacted soil; removal and disposal of 3,500 gallons of hydrocarbon impacted water and backfilling and compaction of over 39,000 tons imported soil. Work also included the design and installation of an 18,600 square foot sheet pile retention system to facilitate the excavation up to 32’ deep. The site was restored with an aggregate cap. Additional work performed also included the relocation and construction of storm sewer and water line and an on-site water treatment system.

Lead Soil Stabilization - Carteret, New Jersey

Scope of Work:

Installation of 400 LF of sheet piling at 30 ft. in depth to prevent infiltration of surface water from an adjacent inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, and the in-situ stabilization of 30,000 tons of lead and arsenic contaminated soil.

Waste Excavation/River Bank Reconstruction - Indianapolis, Indiana

Clearing and grubbing; construction of gravel access road; construction of a total of 3,000 LF of temporary dam in 500 LF sections; dewatering; excavation of 4,500 CY of exposed landfill waste; reconstruction of river bank entailing 4,700 CY of protective clay, 11,000 SY of geotextile fabric, 4,461 SY of geogrid, 800 CY of top soil, 13,033 SY of seeding, tree plantings and 31,000 tons of rip rap/stone slope protection.

Excavation/grading of 250,000 cubic yards of common fill and waste; construction of a 250,000 cubic yard clay cap; placement and grading of 49,000 cubic yards of top soil; construction of 50,000 cubic yard perimeter flood control levee; construction of leachate collection system with 19 vertical extraction wells; construction of gas venting system with 49 vents.
